About Lagos Microfinance

Our story

Built for Lagos, by Lagosians

Lagos Microfinance was founded in 2019 by a team of financial professionals who saw firsthand how traditional banks left small businesses and everyday Lagosians behind. We set out to build a modern microfinance institution that combines the accessibility of community lending with the efficiency of digital banking. Today, we serve thousands of customers across Lagos State, from market traders in Oshodi to salon owners in Lekki.

Financial inclusion is our mission

We believe every Lagosian deserves access to fair, transparent financial services. Our microloans range from ₦10,000 to ₦500,000, designed specifically for small businesses, artisans, and individuals who need capital to grow. With flexible repayment terms and dedicated relationship managers who speak your language, we make borrowing simple and stress-free. Over 80% of our customers are first-time borrowers who were previously excluded from formal banking.

Technology that works for you

Our platform brings microfinance into the 21st century. Apply for a loan in minutes from your phone, track repayments in real-time, and access your account 24/7. Behind the scenes, our risk models use local data to make fair lending decisions quickly, so you get answers in hours, not weeks. We've processed over ₦2.4 billion in loans with a 96% on-time repayment rate, proving that trust and technology can transform financial access.

Security

Your money and data, protected at every layer

Security isn't an afterthought — it's the foundation of our platform. From how we encrypt your data to how our team accesses systems, every decision is made with your protection in mind. Here's what that means in practice.

  • Bank-grade encryption

AES-256 encryption for all data at rest, TLS 1.3 for data in transit, and hardware security modules for cryptographic key storage.

  • Regular security audits

Annual penetration testing by independent security firms, quarterly vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring by our security operations team.

  • Strict access controls

Multi-factor authentication required for all staff, role-based access with least-privilege principles, and complete audit logs of every system interaction.

  • Regulatory compliance

Full compliance with CBN cybersecurity guidelines, NDPR data protection requirements, and PCI DSS standards for payment processing.
